Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the world and it is also one of the most famous cities in the country, especially to its neighbor to the north. It is also the capital of Mexico and the center of some major cultural attractions and landmarks. There is an abundance of places to visit and things to do in Mexico City. The hotels and resorts in the city are excellent resources for assisting with transportation needs, safety recommendations and determining which places you want to visit how many things you can possibly do and see while you are in the city.

With all of the amazing landmarks and architecture there is also some great food to be found and consumed in this city. And while you’re visiting Mexico City, the one thing you are likely to notice, and probably almost immediately, is the importance of music to the society and culture. Classical music is extremely popular and supported in Mexico City and there are numerous symphonies and orchestras throughout it. Many of these offer great performances throughout the season and are extremely popular with tourists.

The National Symphony Orchestra is typically recognized as the most significant and important classical music ensemble in the country. The company performs regularly throughout the season at the Grand Hall of the Palace of Fine Arts . It dates back to 1881, which makes it the second oldest symphony orchestra in North America. The Boston Symphony is the officially recognized oldest orchestra company. The Mexico City Philharmonic is another one of the city’s great orchestras and it performs at the Sala Ollin Yoliztli. It was founded in 1978 under the guidance and support of the Government of Mexico. It has been extremely active and has recorded many performances. Most of these are by Mexican composers and some of the recordings have won prestigious awards.
