San Diego is one of the most loved cities in the state, at least for those who come from outside it. Of course it is also extremely popular with Californians, who come from all over their great state to enjoy the pleasures of the beaches and the beautiful afternoon air. San Diego is one of the legendary cities that has a strong visual image in the minds of most people. Whenever one is asked to think about this city the most likely image that will come to mind is of its incredible beaches. And the hotels in San Diego are full of people who came to the city with these images in mind and they can’t wait to get out on the beach and take a swim, relax in the sun or enjoy surfing the waves. Or enjoy some of the many outdoor activities and events And the weather in San Diego is always expected to be sunny, warm and beautiful. So, are all of these associations the stuff of myths and legends, or is San Diego really that beautiful and attractive?

Well, the answer is probably obvious or the reputation the city enjoys wouldn’t last for long and it wouldn’t be one of the top vacation destinations in the state of California. San Diego actually straddles a couple of different climate zones and it has a Mediterranean climate to the north and it is Semi-arid to the south and the east. However, this does not cause tremendous weather differences throughout the city, though some patterns and various breeze temperatures can be noticed. However, overall, the city enjoys some of the most beautiful weather in the country, all year long. Most of the summer months see highs in the upper seventies and the sky is clear and dry. The winter doesn’t cool down much and the typical highs through the season are in the sixties. Overall, San Diego maintains some of the most beautiful weather and geography in the nation.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years you are probably aware of the immense popularity that Miley Cyrus achieved with her hit Disney show Hannah Montana.  Always a good role model both on and off the set, Miley has been stepping out on her own more frequently in the last year.  With the show rapping up its last season, you have to wonder if there will be anything left to keep her check.  If her latest music video is any indication, Miley is ready to step fully into womanhood.  But is she, perhaps, taking it too far?  Personally, the video reminds of Brittany Spears after her break from Disney.  Check out the video and leave your comments below.

Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the world and it is also one of the most famous cities in the country, especially to its neighbor to the north. It is also the capital of Mexico and the center of some major cultural attractions and landmarks. There is an abundance of places to visit and things to do in Mexico City. The hotels and resorts in the city are excellent resources for assisting with transportation needs, safety recommendations and determining which places you want to visit how many things you can possibly do and see while you are in the city.

With all of the amazing landmarks and architecture there is also some great food to be found and consumed in this city. And while you’re visiting Mexico City, the one thing you are likely to notice, and probably almost immediately, is the importance of music to the society and culture. Classical music is extremely popular and supported in Mexico City and there are numerous symphonies and orchestras throughout it. Many of these offer great performances throughout the season and are extremely popular with tourists.

The National Symphony Orchestra is typically recognized as the most significant and important classical music ensemble in the country. The company performs regularly throughout the season at the Grand Hall of the Palace of Fine Arts . It dates back to 1881, which makes it the second oldest symphony orchestra in North America. The Boston Symphony is the officially recognized oldest orchestra company. The Mexico City Philharmonic is another one of the city’s great orchestras and it performs at the Sala Ollin Yoliztli. It was founded in 1978 under the guidance and support of the Government of Mexico. It has been extremely active and has recorded many performances. Most of these are by Mexican composers and some of the recordings have won prestigious awards.

When the BP oil rig exploded on April 20 killing 11 workers and dumping several thousand gallons of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico, many people saw it for the tragedy that it was. However, it seems that this story is not yet over. Several weeks later BP is still unable to control the leak and the oil slick is continuing to grow and move closer to the coast. In an effort to understand what happened to cause this disaster, as well as bring the situation under control, the US Congress began its official hearing yesterday. It is uncertain how long it will take to question all of the top executives and investigate the specifics of the case, but they will certainly have their work cut out for them as no one is willing to accept the blame. The whole story, as well as updates, can be found on Reuters.com.

Atlanta is well known for its diverse cultural and entertainment scene and is popular with tourists from across the nation as well as outside the country. And while it definitely deserves the attention and interest it receives for many of its entertainment options and the nightlife that the city is known for, there are also a great number of other institutions and cultural establishments that contribute greatly to the society overall heritage of this city. Some of these alternative cultural aspects include various libraries and thematic museums that are found in the city. That was actually an interesting statement in that these institutions are not alternative or sub cultural features, but more traditional elements they’re simply an alternative to what the city is typically known and commended for. And while they are probably not the most immediately recommended visitation attractions for the guests in the hotels in Atlanta , they are definitely some of the important and culturally prestigious agenda locations.

The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum is one of the impressive institutions and it houses many of the papers, documents and other materials related to President Carter, his life and family and his administration. There are also special exhibits included and some of these relate to the additional prestigious aspects of his work and life including the Nobel Peace Prize. There is a full scale replica of the oval office which is intriguing to many and one of the favorite aspects of the museum to many of its guests. Some of the featured aspects of certain exhibits are owned and provided by the federal government and others are private property and independently maintained. The library and museum are run by the National Archives Records Administration and are included as part of the Presidential Library System . This is a point of pride for the residents of Georgia and the city of Atlanta and it is greatly appreciated by the tourists who are visiting the city and tour the museum while they are there.

For some the Kentucky Derby is about horse racing.  Watching the country’s most prestigious and celebrated horse race.  Though the race occurs each year during the spring, Kentucky’s rainy season, the several inches of rain that fell before the race this year made for a particularly muddy track.  A track that some just couldn’t pass up.  I guess you could say that they were just making the most of the situation.

The first weekend of May proved tragic for the states of Tennesse, Kentucky and Mississippi. Although all three states have sustained damage and even loss of life, Tennessee has received the brunt of the damage. Nearly 20 people have died so far—the number is expected to rise as the water levels decrease and the full extent of the damage is known—and intense floods have forced thousands of people out of their homes.

While the country rallies in support and aid of Tennessee, country music fans feel a particular sadness over the Grand Ole Opry House. The building that has served as an icon of country music for 85 years is currently under water. Restoration efforts will soon be underway to repair and restore the building. While the damage is nothing compared to the loss of life, you can’t help but feel regretful for the loss of history as well.

Making the Most of Bamboo

Bamboo is one of the oldest materials used by man. It grows best in the warm and temperate climates of Southeast Asia and China and is one of the fastest growing plants taking only 4 years to reach full maturity and living as long as 120 years. Bamboo was used for centuries to create huts until more modern practices began to take over. Ancient Chinese cultures used it to create coverings for windows much as we do now. They even serve as a tasty treat for pandas.

Today, bamboo still has many practical uses in our homes. It is used to decorate, accessorize, and complement many different design styles. One of the most common ways that bamboo is still used is in window treatments. Much like the ancient Chinese, we appreciate the look and practicality of bamboo blinds . Even if you don’t have an oriental inspired design style in your home, bamboo gives a room a light, more airy feel that can create a nice contrast to heavier furniture and paint.

There are several options when it comes to choosing bamboo window treatments and they vary in look and price. For something nice yet simple, consider bamboo shades. They are ideal for smaller windows and rooms were there is not a lot of extra space. Another option that has been steadily increasing in popularity is bamboo panel track blinds . Ideal for large windows and doors, bamboo sliding panel track s offer the coverage and size of vertical blinds without worrying about them swinging back and forth and getting damaged.

Many home goods stores also carry a wide variety of bamboo accessories. Picture frames, figurines, and candleholders are a great way to tie the bamboo theme together.

Whether you have a bungalow by the sea or house in the city, bamboo is a great material to enhance your personal style and give your home a warm, inviting feel.

Hunting and Hiking in Kauai

Travel in Hawaii has never been more delightful than it is right now. These islands have a particularly glorious reputation as a first-class destination for travelers. Whether one is looking for time away from a mundane day job, or hoping to make their exciting lives even more delightful, Hawaii can offer so much to see and do. If the goal is to not do anything at all, it can also certainly accommodate, giving a hundred reasons a day for just kicking back and enjoying life as it is. Beaches, forests, and clubs are all possible distractions, and there are even places to visit that look like walking on the surface of the moon.

A Kauai hotel is an excellent place to begin. Kauai is one of the great places to stay in Hawaii, and everything that the island is famous for is right here. Like the rest of the state, there are lots of opportunities to do nothing at all, and enjoy every single moment. For those who are in the mood for some outdoor adventures, Koke’e State Park can offer some magnificent distractions. It’s possible to lose a lot of days exploring here, hiking, fishing for trout, picking prunes, and even hunting wild pig. But make sure to obey all the rules, because each activity has its own designated areas.

Many Kauai vacation packages will include tours and unexpected and welcome surprises, with beach visits as well as luaus. Visitors who want to try Koke’e's guided hikes may want to check their itineraries ahead of time to make room for the outings here, so that they can be accommodated. For those with short amounts of time, it is possible to see some of what the park has to offer by driving through. It takes about 45 minutes, and it’s possible to make this longer, should the lure of the land inspire one to pull over and start exploring. Stay on the trails, though, because this is all very protected.

Exploring Kauai is a magical thing, and something not to be missed in a lifetime. It’s also worth coming back, too, because it’s impossible to see it all.
