Paula Adbul was recently revealed to be the latest judge to join Simon Cowell’s X-Factor. The list of judges for the show now consists of Simon Cowell (of course), Paul Adbul, L.A. Reid, and Cheryl Cole. We’ve missed the dynamic between the obnoxious Simon and innocent Paula ever since the duo went their separate ways during the days of American Idol. There are sure to be plenty of insults flying and tears shed by both the judges and the contestants. Here’s hoping though that Simon just brings his dream-crushing King Kong sized ego along with him.

Most gamers have been hit by the recession by having to cut back on their game purchases. Now though free games are a lot more prevalent than they were in the 90′s. A free game in the 90′s only happened when someone threw a cartridge out the window and hit you in the head with it. This is why the Internet is so great for gamers: Mac games download options are nearly everywhere you look.
1. Sauerbraten: is a free first person shooter for available for Mac systems. This game is a lot like Quake Arena or Unreal Tournament. The graphics are good, the sound is decent, and it plays wonderfully. There isn’t a reason why you shouldn’t have this program unless you just don’t care for first person shooters.

2. Armagetron: is a spoof on the racing seen in Tron. The purpose of this game is to race around on a grid as your bike leaves a trail behind you. This game might not be as visually appealing as some games are but it’s a lot of fun. Controls are simple and you would be surprised at how much time you will waste playing this title. This is simple game play at its best. If you feel up to the challenge you can play up to six people at once online.

3. TuxRacer: is a high energy version of the old skiing type games most people used to have on their computers. This one instead of featuring a skier features a penguin sliding down hill on his stomach. The controls are simple and you must avoid the objects and make it to the finish line, which is also relatively easy. This game will waste countless hours of your time and you won’t miss a single one of them.

4. TuxKart: is high energy game that very similar to Mario Kart. You race around the track against various opponents trying to pick up power ups and to be the first one to cross the finish line. This game’s graphics and physics are a little choppy at times but it still plays nearly seamlessly.

5. Urban Terror: is another fast paced first person shooter. This game resembles the earlier Counter Strike titles more so than it does Quake. This tactical shooter always has someone playing no matter what time of day you choose to log into it. The controls are simple and easy to master.

These are the best games that you can find without paying. Just be sure to always check out other free titles and to have fun along the way!

Various events and happenings in New York make the news throughout the year. The stock market is an ongoing media obsession as are political and cultural events in the city. And while this is a standard aspect of the city’s national prominence, there is one major news-making event that occurs in June every year. This, of course, is when the Tony Award celebration takes place and the top theater practitioners across the nation are recognized and honored. People visit New York from around the world all year long and many of them take in a Broadway production while they are there.

The Tony Awards are commonly recognized as the highest achievement honor for theater practitioners. It is frequently considered to be the equivalent of the Academy Awards for the stage. The Tony Award ceremony was originally established in 1947 when the American Theatre Wing initiated the event to honor excellence in the field. The ceremony was named after the recently deceased leader of the Wing, Antoinette Perry, who was also an acclaimed producer, director and actor. The first celebration occurred at the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria on April 6, 1947.

This year’s ceremony will take place on Sunday June 13 and will include performances and celebrities among the presenters. Many of the film and television actors working today had their roots in the theater and return to it from time to time. In addition, it is more common for film trained actors to explore the stage and this year’s awards see a high percentage of actors who are known for their film and television on the nomination lists. Denzel Washington, Christopher Walken, Liev Schreiber, Alfred Molina and Jude Law are the nominees for Leading Actor in a Play and the nominees for Best Actress in a Play are Viola Davis, Linda Lavin, Laura Linney, Jan Maxwell, Valerie Harper and Viola Davis. The New York city hotels will be full of fans and honorees during this special annual event.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years you are probably aware of the immense popularity that Miley Cyrus achieved with her hit Disney show Hannah Montana.  Always a good role model both on and off the set, Miley has been stepping out on her own more frequently in the last year.  With the show rapping up its last season, you have to wonder if there will be anything left to keep her check.  If her latest music video is any indication, Miley is ready to step fully into womanhood.  But is she, perhaps, taking it too far?  Personally, the video reminds of Brittany Spears after her break from Disney.  Check out the video and leave your comments below.

Kentucky Derby 2010: More than Just a Horse Race

For some the Kentucky Derby is about horse racing.  Watching the country’s most prestigious and celebrated horse race.  Though the race occurs each year during the spring, Kentucky’s rainy season, the several inches of rain that fell before the race this year made for a particularly muddy track.  A track that some just couldn’t pass up.  I guess you could say that they were just making the most of the situation.
