The Los Angeles Theatre Center , or LATC as it is sometimes known, is a place that has been through many lives and many incarnations. It’s one of the more coveted spaces for live performance in the city, which is one of the more coveted places for entertainment in the world. It has seen an exceptional past, with many little bumps in its road, along with some rather big ones. Today, however, its newest incarnation began in 2007, and it’s been another spectacular one.

There is something about the space, apparently, or something exceptional about the people, certainly, that makes it bounce back to life so fiercely and with such engaging work. In 2006, the Latino Theatre Company was given a 20 year lease on the building, and they reopened it in 2007, beginning the current remarkable string of successes. They have not only theatre, but also live music and dance, and there have already been many instances when these forms have mixed and crossed into each other. It’s a producing organization that has blending as part of its aesthetic, and it shows in all of the work.

Another part of LATC ‘s mission is to foster dialogue among the diverse communities in Los Angeles through an eclectic selection of artistic works. Some of the performances have a broad appeal, and some are here to push boundaries, take chances, and ask very pressing questions. It all makes for a very lively evening of theatre and performance, and from the past accolades, there is much here to suggest that this is some of the finest work on the coast.

There are plenty of 4 star hotels in Los Angeles to make any stay in the city comfortable and refreshing. Thanks to the LATC, there is also excellent theatre as well.
